Top Tips For Selling Your Home

We often talk about the difficulties of buying a property; especially in the current market. However, it can also be notoriously difficult to sell a property as well. From ensuring that your home is spick and span when potential buyers arrive at your property to making small improvements, we have a few tips to help you throughout the process.

Improve Kerb Appeal

It’s often said that ‘first impressions count’ and that’s certainly true when discussing selling your home. Some buyers could be turned off from your home before they even set foot inside due to the appearance of the outside. To improve your chances of getting a sale, you will want to ensure that visitors walk up your garden path already excited by the prospect of owning your home. To achieve this, trim any hedges, give your windows and doors a new lick of paint, install some new plants or hanging baskets and move your bins out of the way.

Make The Most Out of Your Garden

Gardens and outdoor space can have a huge impact on prospective buyers and could be a defining factor for a sale. If your garden is overgrown, cut it back and make the space look as large as possible. It may be worth investing in some garden furniture, making some small improvements and introducing some electric light in the space too.

Get a Survey

Before you begin the sales process, it’s worth getting a property survey to highlight any defects that there may be in the home. These can then be addressed swiftly and can be used as a benefit for the potential buyer. If a buyer knows that all defects have been recently taken care of, there will be substantially less to do themselves.
